About
He specialises in Total Knee Replacement, Unicompartmental (Partial) Knee Replacement, Knee Arthroscopy (Keyhole Surgery), ACL Reconstruction, Multiligament Knee Reconstruction, Knee Osteotomy, Knee Preservation, Cartilage Regeneration, Patella instability, Biologics, Sports injuries and Trauma.
Mr Tibrewal aims to always deliver the same level of excellent care to every single patient he treats. His core ethos is to treat his patients how he would wish his family to be treated. He provides a comprehensive specialist knee service and is therefore able to tailor any treatment he offers to best suit the individual needs and aspirations of each of his patients. In this way, his patients receive bespoke personalised treatment with the aim of restoring them to the highest level of function as soon as possible.
Mr Tibrewal is triple fellowship trained at international centres of excellence (Sydney, Melbourne and Oxford) and he has worked as an NHS Consultant since 2016. He was educated in Oxford and London. He then studied medicine at the Royal Free and University College Medical School (UCL), London, graduating in 2001. His specialist orthopaedic training was on the historic and prestigious Percivall Pott Rotation in London and he was appointed a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2011.
Mr Tibrewal obtained his Certificate of Completion of Specialist Surgical Training in 2014, following which he embarked on international sub-specialist training. He spent six months with Dr David Dickison in Sydney, Australia, where he trained in all aspects of knee surgery and gained expertise in the use of computer navigation. He then spent a year with A/Prof. Andrew Bucknill at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Prof. Richard de Steiger at the Epworth Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, where he trained in complex arthroplasty and trauma reconstruction. He then returned to England to spend another year focusing purely on knee surgery at the world-renowned Nuffield Health Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford, gaining expertise in unicompartmental (partial) knee replacements.
Mr Tibrewal’s excellence in knee surgery was recognised when he was one of only two surgeons awarded the highly prestigious triennial ESSKA-SLARD Travelling Fellowship in 2022. He visited the best hospitals and knee surgeons in South America to share his knowledge and experience. This included Colombia, Peru, Chile, Brazil and Argentina, where he was on the expert panel for knee replacement surgery at the Argentinian Arthroscopy Association International Conference.
