About

Mr Sam Jain is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in hip and knee replacement surgery.

His practice is based at Nuffield Health Leeds Hospital and Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, where he treats a variety of hip and knee conditions. Mr Jain offers robotic-assisted joint replacement surgery at Nuffield Health Leeds Hospital. He is fully accredited to use the Stryker MAKO system, which is at the forefront of robotic technology.

He provides enhanced rehabilitation techniques for joint replacement surgery and runs a successful day surgery programme for hip and knee replacements. He has significant experience in treating patients with problematic hip replacements and offers the full range of reconstructive options for revision hip replacement surgery.

He graduated from medical school at the University of Leeds in 2005 and trained in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery throughout Yorkshire. He completed his subspecialty training in 2017, followed by fellowship training in Leeds, Northumbria, and at the internationally renowned Wrightington Hospital.

He is an active member of the British Hip Society and currently serves on the Executive Committee as Member at Large. He also works on the Professional Affairs Committee and as the NJR representative. He was a founding member of the British Hip Society’s award-winning Culture & Diversity Committee. In addition, he is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds and a surgical trainer.

Mr Jain has an accomplished research portfolio, with over 40 publications in peer-reviewed journals and orthopaedic textbooks. He has a particular academic interest in the prevention and management of complications in joint replacement surgery and has recently completed a PhD on periprosthetic fractures following hip replacement surgery.
