About
Sameer Gujral is a fully accredited plastic surgeon with over 12 years of experience in the field. He was appointed as a substantive Plastic and Hand Surgeon at Derriford Hospital in 2021. His primary field of interest is hand surgery, covering all aspects of elective and trauma hand surgery along with complex reconstruction. His practice also includes the management of benign and malignant skin and soft tissue lesions, and he is part of the Derriford Hospital Skin Cancer multidisciplinary team. Separately he has an interest in non-surgical aesthetics with several years of experience. He has undertaken specific training in facial non-surgical cosmetics. He was also an aesthetics fellow for two months in Bristol during his registrar-level training.
Sameer ranked first nationally when he obtained his plastic surgery specialist registrar training number and when applying for a national advanced training programme in hand surgery – being awarded a Training Interface Group Fellowship in Ortho-plastic Hand Surgery.
Sameer has subsequently undertaken two hand surgery fellowships. One across plastic and orthopaedic hand and wrist surgery for 14 months (Bristol and Bath, 2021-22) and the other as the American International Travelling Fellow in Hand Surgery (USA, 2023).
