About
Mr Marla has been working at University Hospitals of North Midlands since 2016 as a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon.
He qualified from the University of Delhi and undertook training in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery in Delhi before coming to UK. After completing his Higher Surgical Training in the West Midlands, he consolidated his oncoplastic breast surgery knowledge through a Travelling Fellowship at the Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
Mr Marla is the Multidisciplinary Team Lead for Breast Cancer services at the Trust and is involved in improving breast cancer pathways. He is actively involved in service development projects and is presently piloting a Community Breast Pain Clinic in collaboration with Primary Care.
He has done extensive research in breast cancer including an MSc degree from Glasgow University and has widely published his work. He is a tutor for medical students at Keele University and helps in training upcoming breast surgeons in oncoplastic surgery.
In his role as the Regional Representative of the West Midlands for the Association of Breast Surgery, he contributes to designing new guidelines and disseminate them to colleagues.

Mr Marla enjoys cricket and is a keen gardener. He values the time spent with his family and their pet dog Hugo.
