About

Mr Vitali Gorianov is a Fellowship-trained Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist practice in hip and knee disorders. His more specific interest lies in hip preservation surgery aimed at preventing or delaying the onset of hip arthritis by addressing underlying conditions. 

He completed his medical degree at the University of Southampton and became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2007. His Basic Trauma and Orthopaedic Training was in Wessex region, followed by Specialist Fellowship Training in Hip Arthroscopy and Preservation Surgery in Reading (Royal Berkshire County Hospital, Reading)

He is a Consultant in Hip Preservation and Joint Arthroplasty Surgeon at Portsmouth Hospitals University Trust. 

Vitali enjoys being involved in teaching, training and research, and was appointed an Honorary Research Fellow at University of Southampton. He is passionate about searching for potential options to preserve native joints and increase longevity of joint replacement implants. Having attained PhD in Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research (University of Southampton), MSc in Orthopaedic Engineering (Cardiff University) and Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education (PG CertMedEd, University of Dundee). He has over 20 publications. His research interests include Regenerative Medicine, Skeletal Stem Cell research and the use of Novel Materials and Technologies in Joint Replacement Surgery.
