Following completion of a degree in Physics at Oxford University, Marianne completed a Masters degree in Audiology at Southampton University. Then trained as an Audiological Scientist at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, completing her Certificate of Audiological Competence in 1997. Marianne has worked in North Staffordshire initially with children with hearing loss, and then with adults with hearing and balance difficulties. In 2005 Marianne worked as a Consultant Audiological Scientist at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire. Since 2007 Marianne has enjoyed dedicating her time to developing services provided by her family practice.
Special interests
Marianne Holt has over 20 years’ experience providing NHS, private and medico-legal audio-vestibular assessments and reports. Provision of accurate and validated baseline hearing assessments (Diagnostic Pure Tone Audiometry, Speech Audiometry, Middle Ear Analysis, otoacoustic emissions, objective Cortical Evoked Response Audiometry assessments, threshold and neuro-otological Brainstem Evoked Potentials), balance assessments (Video-nystamography Eye & Functional assessments and Water Calorics) and Tinnitus assessments. Vestibular and tinnitus rehabilitation programmes provided as well as assessment for, and provision of private digital hearing aids.
