About

Lakshika Perera graduated from King’s College London and completed her ophthalmology training on the Northwest Rotation based at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. Her further sub-specialist fellowship in Medical Retina was undertaken at St Paul’s Eye Unit, Liverpool where she was involved in multi-centre research studies. Ms Perera has been a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals Trust since 2014.  

She has a wide experience in general ophthalmological conditions and performs phacoemulsification cataract surgery. Her main sub-specialty interests include age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and vascular occlusions. 

Ms Perera is particularly interested in medical education and training and is an examiner for the Fellowship exams for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
