About

Ms Neal graduated from The University of Nottingham Medical School in 2003 with an intercalated Bachelor of Medical Sciences degree for which she won the Astra Zeneca R&D Charnwood Prize in Medical Science. She then undertook her basic surgical training in Yorkshire including posts at St James University Hospital Leeds. Ms Neal was awarded the first National Academic Clinical Fellowship in Urology and obtained a Cancer Research UK Clinical Research Training Fellowship whilst in the Eastern training region at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge.

In 2012 Ms Neal was awarded a PhD in prostate cancer research from the University of Cambridge for which her work was internationally recognised.

Ms Neal obtained her Certificate of Completion of Training in Urology in 2017. She has published widely including peer-reviewed research articles and as co-author of the 'Oxford Handbook of Urology’.

She has been a Consultant Urological Surgeon since 2017 when she was appointed in Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust and since 2021 has been a Consultant in Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Ms Neal holds an honorary contract with University Hospitals Southampton and sees patients in the NHS and private sector in Hampshire, including Basingstoke and Winchester.

Ms Neal offers consultations for a wide range of urological problems including general urology, bladder cancer and stone disease. She has undertaken sub specialist training in stone surgery, including in Sri Lanka, and has active interests in improving clinical pathways for patients with suspected bladder cancer and their ongoing management. Ms Neal holds membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the British Association of Urological Surgeons.
