About
Yvonne works with Gastroenterologists, Surgeons, and general practitioners (GPs) in Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, and Warwickshire. She has been helping adults aged 16+ since January 2007. Her diet and nutritional expertise includes IBS, diarrhoea, constipation, and other disorders and diseases involving the gastrointestinal tract, gallbladder, and liver.
She is the first author of the British Dietetic Association's evidence‐based practice guidelines for the dietary management of Irritable Bowel Syndrome in adults.
As a diet expert, I have also made voluntary contributions to the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence: SeHCAT (taurocholic [75 selenium] acid) for diagnosing bile acid diarrhoea (November 2021), IBS: Quality Standards (Feb. 2016), and updated guidance for the diagnosis and management of IBS (Feb. 2015).
She worked in the NHS between 1998 and 2008, mostly in Oxfordshire (JR, The Churchill and the Horton General Hospital), providing inpatient and outpatient dietetic care.

- IBS and functional gastrointestinal disorders: first-line dietary intervention, second-line: low FODMAP diet
- Coeliac disease and non-coeliac disease gluten sensitivity: gluten-free diet
- Food intolerances (e.g. lactose, fructose, histamines)
- Constipation, prevention of colorectal cancer: lifestyle/dietary fibre modification

PhD in Nutrition at The University of Manchester. Her research is on diet therapy for the treatment of bile acid diarrhoea, Sept 2019-2025. Bile acid diarrhoea is an under-recognised, under-appreciated, under-researched, medical condition estimated to affect about 1% of the UK population.
