About

Professor Campbell is a vascular surgeon working at Exeter Medical and Nuffield Health, Exeter. He is Honorary Vascular Consultant at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust and Honorary Professor at the University of Exeter Medical School.

Professor Campbell is well known nationally for varicose veins and has led major research studies on treatment of veins. He places special importance on giving detailed advice and counselling about varicose veins: he has written extensive advice material and a book for patients on varicose veins.  He offers a range of vein treatments – cyanoacrylate glue ablation and phlebectomies, foam sclerotherapy, and surgery (including surgery under local anaesthesia). He also specialises in microsclerotherapy treatment for thread veins and other small veins.

In addition to his 32 years’ experience as a vascular consultant, Professor Campbell chaired the NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) advisory committees for both new procedures in the NHS and new medical devices.
