About
Tim Child is a highly experienced Consultant Gynaecologist specialising in fertility, with over 30 years in the field. He assists individuals and couples trying to conceive, those optimising fertility for the future, women with irregular periods due to PCOS or pelvic pain from endometriosis, and people with recurrent miscarriages. He is also experienced in offering second opinions on fertility care and treatment options. While Professor Child does not perform surgeries, he collaborates closely with surgical colleagues as needed.
He is an Associate Professor at the University of Oxford and an Honorary Consultant Gynaecologist and Sub-Specialist in Reproductive Medicine at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. He studied at Cambridge and London Universities and specialised in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at McGill University in Montreal and Oxford. His doctoral research focused on predictors of oocyte in-vitro maturation (IVM) success.
As a Board Member of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA), he influences IVF policy and promotes ethical, evidence-based practices. He co-founded The Fertility Partnership and Oxford Fertility, expanding it to 20 clinics across six countries. He received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the European Fertility Society.
