  • Where can I find my client reference number/ID?

Your client ID can be found in your booking confirmation email.

  • Are there any age restrictions for having a health assessment?

You must be at least 18 years old to undergo a health assessment. Unfortunately, we cannot conduct assessments for anyone under the age of 18.

(Note, there is no upper age limit.)

  • Can I request a specific gender for my Physiologist or Doctor?

You may request a specific gender for your Doctor at the time of booking your assessment. We’ll try our best to accommodate your request based on staff and location availability. Keep in mind that these arrangements may change, so we can’t guarantee this.

Unfortunately, we don’t accommodate gender requests for Physiologists.

  • I am pregnant – can I still have an assessment?

Yes, our health assessments are more than just “know your numbers”. Many of your health metrics are likely to be different than usual during your pregnancy. However, our clinicians will be able to advise you on lifestyle considerations in order to optimise your wellbeing during your pregnancy and beyond.

  • Are there any issues with taking a flight before my assessment?

We recommend you do not book an assessment within 48 hours of a long-haul flight as there can be an impact on several of your tests.

  • Questions about your health assessment

  • How long will the assessment take?

    Assessment type Duration
    360+ Up to 3 hours
    360 Up to 2 hours
    Lifestyle 1 hour
    Female 1 hour

*If clinically indicated, and normally only for those 40 years of age or over, a mammogram can be added to female, 360 or 360+ Health Assessments and it will last up to 30 minutes. It may be possible to have this at the same time as your health assessment or alternatively you may have to rebook another appointment dependent upon availability.

  • I don’t want to have some of the tests, can I decline them?

Yes – the clinician who carries out your health assessment will explain each test as they go. If you do not want to have the test, you can decline it.

  • Can I bring someone with me to my assessment?

Yes – you’re welcome to bring an adult aged 18 or older.

Keep in mind that our space is limited, and certain questions and examinations can be intimate. Please provide your consent if you’d like this person to be aware of your results.

(Note, chaperones can be requested at the time of your health assessment.)

  • What should I wear?

Wear comfortable and flexible clothing (loose top/tracksuit/shorts) and trainers as you may be required to complete some form of exercise during your assessment.

  • Can I consume food or beverages before my assessment?

    Drinking advisory

We advise continuing to drink water as normal, as staying well hydrated can facilitate many of the tests and make it easier to accurately assess both urine and blood samples, along with blood pressure measurements.

    Food advisory

    If you are:

    • Non-diabetic – do not eat or drink anything other than water for 8-10 hours prior to your appointment
    • Diabetic – continue to eat and drink as normal.
    • Pregnant – only fast if you are comfortable to do so and there are no medical concerns in your pregnancy.
  • Can I smoke before my assessment?

If you’re a regular smoker, you can continue as usual, but be aware of its potential influence on your health assessment results.

  • Can I exercise before my assessment?

We recommend avoiding exercise for 12–24 hours before the assessment – otherwise it may affect your urinalysis, body composition, and blood pressure measurements.

If you’re eligible for a Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) test, you should avoid exercising for 48 hours before the health assessment.

  • Can I complete the exercise testing regardless of my medical history?

Your clinician will recommend any necessary adjustments to exercise testing based on your medical history.

Note that based on your medical history and our consent forms, your clinician reserves the right to limit part of or the entirety of your assessment.

In the event this occurs, your clinician will explain why and talk you through the impact that any pre-existing conditions or medications you are taking may have on your overall assessment results.

If you’re concerned about your condition, medication, or situation impacting your ability to undergo exercise testing, take a look at our consent list in advance of your health assessment, click here for more information.

  • Will I have a smear test as part of my appointment?

In our health assessments (360+, 360 and Female), we offer dual testing for cervical smears. This means that your sample will be tested for high-risk Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) and cytology.

Smear tests will be offered for anyone aged 25 to 49 years, conducted every three years, and for those aged 50 to 64 years, conducted every five years.

If clinically indicated, a smear test will be offered more frequently.

  • Can I reschedule my smear test if I get my period on the day of the assessment?

If your appointment is outside the three full working days’ cancellation notice, contact our Central Bookings team to rearrange your appointment. Otherwise, we recommend attending your appointment.

If you are menstruating on the day of your assessment:

    • Urine testing will only be completed if clinically indicated.
    • Cervical screening can be rescheduled with a return appointment.
  • My health assessment includes a Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) blood test. Is there anything I need to do to prepare for this?

If you are over the age of 50 with a prostate in situ, a PSA blood test may be included in your health assessment. Several factors can impact the results of this test. We recommend you read the PSA blood test leaflet for more information about this test.

Make sure you follow the guidance below for PSA blood tests to minimize the risk of a false positive PSA result – otherwise your test may need rescheduling (all other health assessment blood tests can take place).

Before undertaking the PSA test, you must not have:

    • had a urinary tract infection in the last month
    • done vigorous exercise in the previous 48 hours
    • ejaculated in the last 48 hours
    • undergone a prostate biopsy or surgery in the last six weeks.
  • How do I use the FIT kit if my health assessment incudes a bowel cancer screening?

A bowel cancer screening is included in some of our health assessment packages if you’re over 40.

If you’re eligible, you will receive a FIT kit in the post containing a bowel cancer screening tool before your assessment. The kit will also contain detailed use instructions.

To make sure your screening results are available on the day of your assessment, please return your test to us at least five working days before your appointment using the prepaid envelope provided. If results aren’t available during your assessment, we’ll either:

    • Include them in your health assessment report
    • Send them via letter
    • Have a health assessment Doctor communicate them to you

If you don’t receive your FIT kit 8-10 days before your appointment, please contact us on 03301 629 301. Lines are open Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm.

  • How long should I wait after donating blood before scheduling a health assessment?

We recommend waiting at least 12 weeks after donating blood before scheduling a health assessment.

  • Do I need to print my Trium® risk analysis or questions?

No, if you’ve completed Trium®, our online health risk analysis, it will automatically be available to your screening clinicians at your assessment.
