Visiting hours
Guests are welcome to visit you during your stay in hospital. To ensure patient safety and security, a patient may be escorted to their room at the time of admission by one relative or friend, who will be requested to vacate the ward once the patient goes to theatre or their procedure.
On return to the ward, patients may receive a maximum of two visitors at a time. We do encourage periods of no visiting, particularly mornings, to allow patients to receive care and treatment as well as quiet time to rest and recover from their procedure.
While the Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital patient room folder offers visitors meals, please note we are unable to offer this service at this time. We request that visitors vacate the ward by 19:30pm. For Children and Young People (CYP) patients, a parent or guardian must accompany their child for the full duration of their stay with us. Any exceptions to visiting hours is at the discretion of the nurse in charge, ward manager or Matron.
Security
All visitors to the ward may be asked to sign in and out of our visitor’s book at reception and they may be asked to sign in/out whilst they are on hospital premises. External CCTV is in operation at the hospital as an additional precaution. If you are aware of or suspect any threat to the Hospital, please speak to reception as soon as possible.
Car parking
Free car parking is available at the hospital but this can be limited during peak times.
Taxis
Should you or your visitors require taxi services, the reception team will be happy to arrange this for you.
Visitor meals
Your visitors are welcome to dine with you and can choose from our daily menu. Orders will be taken by the ward serving team and we would appreciate orders for lunch by 11am and dinner by 4pm. Please note that visitor’s meals are chargeable and these will be added to your room account unless you advise otherwise.
Local Accommodation
Should your relatives or friends wish to stay locally, there are a number of hotels and bed and breakfasts which we can recommend to accommodate your visitors overnight. A special rate has been agreed with the nearby four star Marygreen Manor Hotel for overnight stays, including their garden rooms. Should you need a longer term stay, please discuss rates directly with the Hotel. Please ask if any guidance is needed.
