Dr Lisa Sharkey is an experienced consultant Gastroenterologist in Cambridge. She qualified from the University of Cambridge in 2004 and undertook most of her training in East Anglia before being appointed as a consultant at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in 2015. She was granted a Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians London in 2019.
She has experience in managing a wide variety of Gastroenterological conditions, including IBD, irritable bowel syndrome, gastro-oesophageal reflux, coeliac disease, constipation, malabsorption, diarrhoea and abdominal pain. She has particular expertise in clinical nutrition and intestinal rehabilitation. She offers a range of endoscopic diagnostic procedures including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy and ileoscopy.
Dr Sharkey holds a number of national and international leadership roles in the areas of Clinical Nutrition and Intestinal Rehabilitation and in Nutrition Training for Gastroenterologists and other doctors. She has published a significant number of peer-reviewed papers and contributed to various textbook chapters.
