Photoselective Vaporisation of Prostate using a laser is a minimally invasive procedure for the treatment of non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate gland.
A high-powered laser is used to vaporise the obstructing prostate tissue, relieving pressure on the urinary track. This treatment is much less invasive than conventional TURP treatment of the same condition with less blood loss and in most cases a considerable reduction in the time needed to recover after surgery including a shorter stay in hospital and less time spent with a catheter in place.
