Everything you need to know for your stay at Guildford Hospital

When you book an appointment with us, you may have booked it with one of our Consultant’s medical secretaries who manage the Consultant’s diary. Medical secretaries are not always based within our Guildford Hospital, but they will have told you about how to get to the Hospital and some of the things to be aware of that we have to ask you when you arrive. Alternatively, you may have booked through our online booking functions, or via our dedicated Contact Centre. If so, you should have received a confirmation email detailing what to expect when you arrive.

Getting here

When you arrive at our hospital, if you are driving you are welcome to park in our free car park. The car park can get a little congested during the day so we suggest arriving early for your appointment– we will always accommodate you if you suffer delays parking. Please make sure you enter your vehicle registration when you arrive, or you may receive a fine.

Signing in

Our Hospital reception team will be pleased to welcome you and help you get booked in for your appointment or surgery.

When you booked your appointment, we may have collected payment card details, which we will use for any outstanding balance. If not, our reception team will collect this upon your arrival at the hospital. For your peace of mind, we will let you know at least 10 days in advance before charging your card, by letter, email or text message. If you would like a receipt, please just let us know.

Outstanding balances could include:

  • Services where we do not directly deal with your insurer
  • Services, charges, related expenses and any policy excess not covered, in whole or part, by your insurance company or the NHS or where you are paying for your own treatment, service charges and expenses not covered by the terms agreed for your treatment
  • Consultant and/or medical practitioner professional fees (where applicable)

Rest assured, your card details are kept safe and if you have any questions or concerns about payments, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

If you’re a new patient we will ask you to sign our terms and conditions. As a hospital we have very high clinical standards, and it is important you are aware of our policies around maintaining these. We do ask that you read these carefully before signing.
