Speakers & Presentation Topics:
- Mr Nicholas Boyle, Consultant Upper GI Surgeon - Magnets, Balls and Wind. The modern approach to diagnosing and treating gastro-oesophageal reflux, why you should consider the influence of the gastro-intestinal microbiome and think twice before prescribing PPIs. This will be a case study led discussion and will include 2 patients.
- Mr Edward Hughes, Consultant Ophthalmologist - Spotting serious eye conditions in Primary Care.
- Dr Richard Gale, Consultant Haematologist - General Haematology Issues: Interpreting the full blood count, B12, folate and ferritin and paraproteins. High grade B cell lymphoma - diagnosis and new therapies.
- Dr Masud Haq, Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology - Implementing NICE guidelines to improve outcomes in Type 2 diabetes.
