Oculoplastic surgeons are trained ophthalmologists (eye doctors) so they understand the complexity of the eye. They perform surgery on the eye lid and facial plastic surgery. This includes removal of eyelid cysts and reconstruction, repair of entropian and ectropian (eyelid turning in or out), ptosis correction (drooping eyelids) and blepharoplasty (eyelid reshaping).
