We recognise that coming into hospital can be a daunting experience but we are committed to making sure your time at Highgate Hospital is as easy, relaxed and comfortable as possible.
We strive to provide first-class independent healthcare for the local community in a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment; one in which we would be happy to treat our own families. So, whether you are an inpatient, day case or outpatient you will be cared for by a team of professionals who are dedicated to ensuring you receive the best possible treatment.
Here you will find practical patient information concerning coming into hospital and what to expect including:
- Coming to hospital
- Your care
- Your rights
- Using your medical insurance
To ensure patients are safely prepared for surgery, as well as strict exclusion criteria, we have a rigorous pre-operative and anaesthetic assessment, ensuring all patients are fully optimised to reduce the risk of complications and/or subsequent transfers for higher level of care.
When we cannot provide safe care, we will transfer our patients to our local NHS Trust, with whom we have a service level agreement; they have the facilities to provide higher levels of care (HDU and ICU).
Our transfers over 2022-2023 were due to patients who required level of care that could not be provided at the Nuffield Health Highgate Hospital, any patients transferred out are reviewed and discussed at our Resuscitation and Critical Care Committee.
