Reflux is a condition in which stomach acids surge upwards from the stomach into the oesophagus.
This is sometimes described as a harsh burning sensation.Treatment for reflux is normally approached in three stages:
- Lifestyle changes
- Drug Therapy

If surgery is required, this can be carried out laparoscopically (key hole surgery) or as open surgery (larger incision).
Recovery from a laparoscopic anti-reflux surgery is normally two to three days stay in hospital. Open surgery may require a six to eight day stay.
