Supermicrosurgery for prevention or treatment of lymphoedema at Nuffield Health at St Bartholomew's Hospital
- Overview
Or call us on
An advanced minimally invasive supermicrosurgery technique to relieve lymphoedema.
Through tiny incisions, often less than 2cm in length, we find lymphatic channels and small veins just beneath the skin. We then connect the lymphatic channels to the veins. This gives the lymphatic fluid an alternative route to escape from the affected area back into the bloodstream, effectively bypassing the area of damage to the lymphatics. This operation is called LVA (lymphaticovenular anastomosis).
