Plymouth Hospital opened in 1971 and is conveniently located on the northern outskirts of Plymouth adjacent to the local NHS teaching hospital, with easy road access from all directions.
Hospital facilities
We have three operating theatres, 37 single en suite rooms, two HDU beds and a four bedded endoscopy recovery room adjacent to the endoscopy unit. There is a busy outpatient department which includes a minor operating room, physiotherapy and clinical imaging unit, with MRI and CT capabilities. The en-suite rooms have their own telephone, TV and free Wi-Fi.
Personal care
The nursing team are available 24hrs a day and you will always be involved as much as possible in the planning of your care. We take great pride in maintaining your privacy and dignity at all times, ensuring you are as comfortable and relaxed as possible throughout your stay.
Your stay
Whilst staying in the hospital, you will be seen by your chosen consultant, supported by our Resident Medical Officer and nursing staff who are on site 24hrs a day. Our Matron led care ensures that the clinical standards and patient experience we deliver are second to none. Our waiting times are short, usually within two weeks, enabling you to get back to your chosen lifestyle as quickly as possible.
