How to prepare for your consultation or appointment during COVID-19
Due to the current environment surrounding COVID-19, we want to ensure that you are well prepared for your upcoming consultation and feel comfortable with the extra precautions in place that will keep you and our colleagues safe as we provide the expert care we are known for.
Before your consultation
Our aim is to reduce the overall risk of COVID-19 in our clinics and facilities in order to protect our clients and colleagues, to maintain safe pathways and provide a safe environment. In order to achieve this, we will apply the concept of COVID-19 risk assessment and reduction of that risk in all we do. This means we must all think differently and consider the risk of COVID-19 at all times. Every person who enters our clinics is a potential transmitter or sufferer of the virus and must be considered as such. The actions which will protect us do not start at the doors of the clinic. Please ensure that you take measures to reduce your exposure to COVID-19 before you attend, and our staff and clinicians will take appropriate precautions to avoid exposure to COVID-19 for you and themselves, whilst you are in our clinics. These measures will reduce the risk of you contracting COVID-19, but cannot eliminate this risk completely.
You will be risk assessed at point of entry to the building and to help mitigate risk of transmission we are limiting the amount of people in our clinics at present. Therefore please ensure you only come accompanied to your assessment if you require a carer or interpreter. If you will be accompanied, please ensure that you inform the clinic prior to your appointment.
We strive to be able to provide a chaperone during all consultations, however in some clinics this may not be possible. Where a chaperone is not available we will be able to reschedule your appointment to a time and location that is suitable to you. Please note that if a chaperone is not available, the clinician also reserves the right to reschedule to a time and location where a chaperone is available. For more information on our locations and to find out if your appointment location will have a chaperone, please contact us on 0343 249 6475 where we will be able to assist.
Arriving at your consultation
Please note, if attending one of our fitness and wellbeing locations you will be asked to scan the NHS Test and Trace QR Code when entering.
To limit the amount of people in our clinics at any one time, please arrive as close to your appointment time as possible.
Following PHE guidelines, you will be required to wear a face covering for the duration of your time in the clinic. We are able to provide this for you, or alternatively if you feel more comfortable providing your own then please bring this with you.
We will have multiple hand sanitising stations in our clinics, therefore please ensure you use these throughout.
All clinics will be set up to practice social distancing where possible, therefore may look slightly different to normal.
During your consultation
To ensure safety throughout the consultation, appropriate PPE will be worn by our clinicians when they are completing examinations and tests. We have also increased our cleaning regimes to help reduce risk.
If you have any questions in regards to your consultation before attending, please don’t hesitate to contact us on 0343 249 6475.
