Many assisted conception patients can now benefit from extended culture and blastocyst transfer.

What is extended culture and blastocyst transfer?

Embryos may be cultured for 2-3 days following fertilisation. Extending the culturing time to 5 days (blastocyst stage) allows us to better identify those embryos that are most likely to result in a pregnancy.

At Nuffield Health we are committed to reducing our multiple pregnancy rate (the number of pregnancies that are twins or more). Blastocyst transfer allows us to transfer just one embryo in most of our cycles. We very rarely transfer two embryos once we have reviewed your individual circumstances.
