Despite one in four of us experiencing a mental health problem in any given year, there is still stigma surrounding mental health. In a survey conducted by Nuffield Health, the UK’s largest healthcare charity, it found that nearly a fifth of people (16%) would be too embarrassed or ashamed to ask for help with any mental health problems they experienced while one in ten (13%) still worry about being judged or discriminated against. Nuffield Health Chichester Hospital, part of the wider Nuffield Health Charity, has achieved the highest possible rating of excellence by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following an inspection in October 2021. The hospital was visited by a CQC team of inspectors and regulation specialists with healthcare expertise who scrutinised all areas of the hospital’s practice, defining it as an ‘Outstanding’ hospital.
