Preparing our fleet to be powered by bio-fuel

We’re upgrading our fleet of lorries which supports our Hospital Sterile Services Unit (HSSU). Our seven HSSUs offer bespoke decontamination services for re-usable medical devices throughout England. The upgrade, which will take place in 2023, will see our 28 lorries powered by bio-fuel.

Using an advanced renewable fuel can reduce our CO2 emissions by as much as 90%, so it’s a priority area for the Charity.

We’ll be investing in equipment tracking technology, in the future, so that we can monitor usage more accurately. This will help us streamline our journeys so we’re more efficient on the road.
