New research released today has found that over one in three women in the UK (37%) have reported that their physical health has gotten worse in the last 12 months, and nearly half (47%) have failed to do any vigorous exercise. Lower numbers of men reported the same impact, with 28% reporting that their physical health has gotten worse in the last 12 months and 34% not having done any vigorous activity in the last 12 months.

Despite one in four of us experiencing a mental health problem in any given year, there is still stigma surrounding mental health. In a survey conducted by Nuffield Health, the UK’s largest healthcare charity, it found that nearly a fifth of people (16%) would be too embarrassed or ashamed to ask for help with any mental health problems they experienced while one in ten (13%) still worry about being judged or discriminated against.
