About
Dr Vatve completed her dermatology training in Glasgow and moved to the North East in 2008 and since then has been working as a Consultant Dermatologist at Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham (County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust).
She has extensive experience in managing inflammatory skin conditions including providing phototherapy, using disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDS) and biological agents.
Dr Vatve is experienced in diagnosing and treating benign and malignant skin lesions and carries out all dermatological procedures such as excision of lesions on the head, neck and other body sites. She regularly performs diagnostic biopsies and other minor surgical procedures such as shave excision and curettage and cautery.
Dr Vatve is well versed with injecting intralesional steroids in keloid scars, hypertrophic scars and alopecia areata. Dr Vatve also has experience in treating genital dermatosis in women.
Personal interests
Outside of work Dr Vatve enjoys music and dancing and she is currently taking lessons to learn Bollywood dancing. A good artist, Dr Vatve enjoys painting landscape and nature.

Research
Dr Vatve is actively involved in research and is one of the top recruiters in the country to the BADBIR study for psoriasis. She is also involved in other studies like B-STOP, ADR study and Secucinumab trial for psoriasis. In development are home grown studies such as phototherapy efficacy in eczema and she is hoping to get involved in more portfolio studies.
