Dr Nia John

Dr Nia John is a General and Developmental Paediatrician, based at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.  She has been working as an NHS consultant for over 15 years.

Dr John assesses and treats children of all ages, with particular interest in neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism and ADHD, child development, and disability. She sees children who present with behavioural concerns, difficulties relating to toileting and constipation and sleep problems. Dr. John looks after children who have chronic health needs and is familiar with treating children who present with common paediatric conditions.

Dr John graduated from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1990 and has a Masters degree in Legal Aspects of Medical Practice from the University of Cardiff.  Dr John, who has a background in General Practice, undertook higher specialist training in Paediatrics in Wales and has worked in Australia for 18 months. She has an interest in undergraduate education and postgraduate training. She has taken on a number of roles with the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and is an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Cardiff, School of Medicine.
