About
Having qualified with honours from University College London in 2010, Mr Andy Jones’ medical training commenced in Oxford, followed with time in Brisbane, Australia and South Wales, before completing his orthopaedic training on the very highly respected Severn Rotation. This allowed him to work for a variety of nationally and international renowned surgeons and leaders in their subspecialty field.
Andy subsequently completed fellowship training in Cardiff and was later appointed as a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in knee surgery at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
Andy specialises in all aspects of knee surgery for all ages, regularly performing partial and total knee replacements, arthroscopic (keyhole) procedures, ligament reconstruction, ACL surgery, meniscal surgery and patellofemoral (kneecap) procedure. He also has a special interest in knee preservation surgery, offering all types of osteotomy around the knee in addition to robotic assisted knee replacement surgery (MAKO).

Andy is a keen family man with 3 young children and prioritises family time when not working.
He has always been a sports enthusiast, enjoying all sports but with a particular interest in rugby / football / golf and skiing, albeit in a spectator role predominantly these days.

Throughout his career he has undertaken various research projects with a variety of publications in orthopaedic journals. He has presented his work at both national and international conferences.
Andy's latest research and interests are based around optimizing patient care and experiences while undergoing knee replacement surgery, with a drive towards day case and short stay arthroplasty.
