About
Mr Forster was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon by Cardiff and Vale University Health Board in 2007 as a primary & revision knee replacement surgeon with trauma. His appointment coincided with the opening Cardiff and Vale Orthopaedic Centre at the University Hospital Llandough which was opened to ease the long waiting times for knee surgery present in Cardiff at the time. Since being appointed, his practice has developed significantly. He stopped his trauma commitment in 2012 to concentrate on his elective knee practice and to set up a paediatric / adolescent knee service based in the Children’s Hospital of Wales. Overall, he performs around 400 knee cases per year. He oversees the training and education of one BOA Transitional Fellow. He was Lead Knee Clinician for Cardiff and Vale University Health Board between March 2012 and December 2020. He is an Honorary Clinical Teacher for Cardiff University. His special interests include arthroscopic surgery, ligament reconstruction, primary and revision knee replacement, patella disorders, osteotomy, adolescent knee problems and treatment of knee arthritis in young and active patients. https://www.cardiffkneesurgery.com

Mr Forster enjoys travelling to unusual places off the beaten track and has been fortunate to travel to many amazing places around the world. He loves the great outdoors and spending time walking up hills or along the beach with his family.
