About
Mr Phillips studied and trained at Oxford and Cambridge before completing his general surgical training in London. Following specialist registration, He undertook advanced training in colorectal disease at St. Mark's Hospital, a national referral unit for complex bowel disorders. His final laparoscopic training was completed in Bristol, recently awarded recognition as a UK laparoscopic training unit.
Mr Phillips's special interests include surgical treatment of prolapse and pelvic floor disorders, and the modern (day-case) stapling procedures for piles and disorders of defecation. His laparoscopic practice is broad, covering bowel resection for cancer and IBD, gallstone disease and abdominal hernia including incisional hernia.
His research explored the immune processes which enhance survival in patients with bowel cancer and led to a Doctorate from the University of Oxford.
