Mr Wong is a consultant ophthalmologist at James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough where he specialises in cataract, oculoplastic and orbital surgery.

He completed his training in the UK and went on to complete fellowships in oculoplastic and orbital surgery in both Newcastle upon Tyne and Brisbane, Australia.

His extensive training in orbital and facial reconstructive plastic surgery results in Mr Wong receiving referrals to manage complex cases.

After considering Blepharoplasty surgery for some time I decided to do some research on surgeons who carry out this procedure and found Mr Wongs’ background and qualifications to be exceptional. I contacted him to arrange a consultation.

During the consultation I explained my reasons and expectations for wanting the surgery. Mr Wong then went on to explain the procedure in depth, highlighting the things that were more relevant to me such as how the local anaesthetic was administered and what I should expect in relation to this plus the importance and precision needed for measuring and marking out the eyelids to achieve the desired result, he also made me aware of what to expect after surgery and throughout the healing process.

The day of the surgery arrived. Whilst Mr Wong carried out the procedure he explained all the different stages, he made me aware of any sensations and effects I would encounter prior to certain aspects of the procedure whilst being consistent in asking about my comfort and wellbeing. He chatted to me about my upcoming events and general current events which kept me relaxed and instilled confidence. Being a chatty person made the interaction enjoyable too.

I was instantly pleased with the result and knew this would improve immensely in time. It’s been 2 weeks since my surgery so healing is still ongoing but even now the difference cosmetically is amazing, another plus is my peripheral vision, I didn’t realise how much of this was hindered prior to surgery. It’s hard to put into words how happy I am with the outcome.

I found Mr Wong to be extremely personable and top drawer in his profession. As recommendations go, he is No. 1 on my list and I would highly recommend him to anyone considering Blepharoplasty.
