Mindfulness & learning at Nuffy Bear Day Nursery
Find out a little more information on the learning programmes our Nuffy Bear Day Nurseries follow.
Achievement through learning & engagement
Our nurseries follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. This covers seven areas, divided into prime and specific.
- Personal, social and emotional development
- Communication and language
- Physical development
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Expressive arts and design
- Understanding the world.
All the activities available support one or more of these areas, whether it’s using building with blocks, counting pieces of fruit, drawing their friends or playing musical statues.
Happiness
Smiling faces at the end of the day are just one way to gauge your child’s wellbeing. During their time at nursery, our staff ensure that your child is well-settled, happy and engaged using the Leuven Scale.
As well as making new friends, we will ensure that your child forms strong bonds with nursery staff. These staff members will be their support from drop-off to pick-up time, and a key point of contact for parents and guardians too.
Meditation
We aim to provide two 10-minute sessions throughout the day of meditation or quiet time. These provide a balance with the activity and interaction that characterise the rest of the day.
Meditation can help children sleep better, reduce anxiety, improve their self-esteem, improve their attainment and reduce stress. It supports children’s resilience, can assist in defusing tantrums and help them explore their emotions.
