Our Endoscopy Unit
Attending hospital for any investigation can be an anxious time and we recognise that. We aim to make your stay with us as comfortable and stress free as possible, and hope that this leaflet will answer some of the questions that you may have.
The procedures that we perform at Nuffield Health Guildford Hospital are:
- Gastroscopy
- Colonoscopy
- Flexible Sigmoidoscopy
- ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-Pancreatography)
- Oesophageal stenting/dilatation
- PEG (Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy)
- Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) – If you are having an Endoscopic Ultrasound, your procedure will be performed by your consultant in the Endoscopy Unit at the Royal Surrey Foundation Trust (RSFT). You will be admitted to the Guildford Nuffield and escorted to the RSCH by a member of the nursing team and a porter. Once the procedure is completed, you will return to your private bedroom at Nuffield Health Guildford Hospital to recover.
