Also known as a testicular screen, this ultrasound can help diagnose medical conditions in the testicles.

Ultrasound is a procedure that uses sound waves to see inside the body. A testicular scan takes about 10 minutes.

A testicular ultrasound can help diagnose medical conditions such as pain in the testicles. This test can differentiate between the common causes of pain, including epididymitis, testicular torsion or orchitis. It can also be used to detect small lumps or masses within the testicle, such as varicoceles, hydroceles or cysts.

There are a number of risk factors for testicular conditions e.g. age, family history, undescended testes, lack of exercise, tight fitting clothes, early puberty and race.
