Acute pain

Personal injuries such as cuts and bruising, broken bones and physical trauma all cause acute pain. A nagging ache or pain may be a symptom of another problem. Please seek medical advice immediately if you are in pain, so that the cause can be investigated, diagnosed and treated.

Chronic pain

Any pain that continues for more than twelve weeks, or for longer than expected after surgery or trauma, is considered to be chronic. Consultant specialists at Parkside Hospital can help to reduce pain, improve your mobility and provide access and support.

Musculoskeletal pain

Pain in the bones, muscles, nerves, tendons and ligaments is classed as musculoskeletal pain. We have the facilities to test for and treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.

Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS)

We can treat CRPS with medication and injections in the head, neck and back or facet joints between the vertebrae. If the pain is lower down your body, a lumbar epidural may be suitable.

Trigeminal neuralgia
