Rheumatology is the branch of general medicine concerned with the development, diagnosis and treatment of diseases that affect the joints, bones, muscles and connective tissue.
We offer outpatient clinics with Consultant Rheumatologists, supported by our Diagnostic Centre for x-ray, ultrasound and MRI scanning. Your consultant also has access to other specialists within the hospital to work with and refer to as appropriate and our physiotherapy team for any rehabilitative treatment.
We can care for you from the diagnosis through to treatment and rehabilitation for a wide range of rheumatological conditions including:
- Back and neck pain
- Connective tissue disease
- Degenerative joint disease
- Arthritis
- Lupus
- Osteoporosis
- Sciatica
- Soft tissue disorders such as tennis elbow and carpal tunnel.
You will usually need to be referred to see a Consultant Rheumatologist by a GP or other healthcare professional. Speak to your GP and ask them to refer you to The Holly Hospital.
