Physiotherapy - Could it help you get back to your best?

Nuffield Health's physiotherapy team in Bournemouth take your health and wellbeing very seriously. No matter what your lifestyle, profession, age or fitness goals, we are dedicated to helping you get back to your physical best, whilst providing education and lifestyle advice so you can sustain the improvement.

Being located within a hospital means our physiotherapy clinic treats a lot of patients who have undergone orthopaedic surgery with us, like knee and hip replacements. A patient's aftercare is included in the 'one-off' fee, meaning you can take advantage of our on-site expertise to encourage a full and thorough recovery. It also means patients can use our hydrotherapy pool to aid their rehabilitation with exercise in the water.

We also see patients just wanting independent treatment, whether you have private medical insurance or are choosing to 'self-pay'. If you are suffering pain and discomfort physiotherapy treatment could help. Book your initial 45-minute appointment online today and take the first step to a healthier, happier you.

Our physiotherapy hydrotherapy pool

Unlike the vast majority of other physiotherapy clinics in the UK, we are able to offer patients the use of our hydrotherapy pool. The pool is available for all types of treatment, regardless of whether you have insurance or simply self-pay.

  • The pool is heated to a very pleasant 97° and has easy access via steps, chair or bed hoist
  • Many people take advantage of the pool after having joint replacement surgery, e.g. a hip or knee replacement as it is a lot less painful and beneficial exercising in warm water than on dry land
  • Hydrotherapy is also ideal for reducing joint stiffness and improving muscle strength and overall flexibility/general health.

How can I help you improve your health?

Graduating from Robert Gordon University Aberdeen with an MSc in Physiotherapy – Claire worked in several clinical areas across London before specialising in Pelvic Health. She joined Nuffield Health in 2022, prior to this she was a Clinical Specialist in Women's Health in the NHS.

Claire’s particular area of clinical expertise lies in treating pelvic floor muscle dysfunction in women of all ages, including symptoms of vaginal prolapse, bladder and bowel weakness. She also specialises in treating pregnancy related back/pelvic pain and postnatal conditions.

Claire is passionate about making a difference to people’s lives by restoring their pelvic health and helping them return to a full, active lifestyle. Sessions are provided in a comfortable, relaxed environment, and with an individualised approach to your physiotherapy treatment and care.

Claire also performs a specialised post-natal assessment recommended for all women following delivery – this can be done from 6 weeks post-natal to many years later. This assessment focuses on the strength and function of the tummy and pelvic floor muscles to help prevent long-term childbirth-related complaints such as incontinence, low back pain and ‘mummy tummy’ and supports women to return to activity safely post-natal.
