What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a profession whose aim is to encourage and support the return to normal following illness, surgery, disease or trauma. It can be effective in the treatment of a range of muscle, joint and nerve conditions.

Physiotherapists use a wide range of techniques such as manual therapy and exercise prescription to maintain health for people of all ages, helping patients to manage pain and prevent disease.

We can offer expertise in upper limb and hand rehabilitation, pain management programmes and post-surgical recovery. Many of our therapists are also trained in Pilates, Acupuncture and Joint Manipulation, carrying out thorough biomechanical assessments to enhance and optimize function.

We have strong links with many orthopaedic consultants and have an excellent track record in the rehabilitation of upper and lower limb sports injuries. In addition we can offer pre and post natal treatment and advice as well as vertigo and balance rehabilitation with our vestibular specialist.

How can I help you improve your health?

I studied Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Brighton from 1997-2001. After qualifying, I spent 2 years working within a gym environment working as a personal trainer. In 2003, I went to the University of East London to complete a degree in Physiotherapy.

Since qualifying from the University of East London I have worked in a variety of settings practicing my Physiotherapy skills and techniques where I focus on musculoskeletal physiotherapy. As well as working in a number of Occupational Health Units (British Airport Authorities, Hammersmith & Fulham Town Hall, Royal Mail), I have also enjoyed working with players for Crystal Palace Football Club and Surrey County Cricket Club.

I joined Nuffield Health in 2009 and enjoy working as a Physiotherapist treating patients through manual techniques or specific exercise therapy. I am also trained in clinical Pilates, CBT and functional restoration

How can I help you improve your health?

I qualified as a physiotherapist in 2004 after working as a fitness instructor and massage therapist. Since qualifying I have worked within the NHS and privately.

I joined Nuffield Health in 2009 and have continued to work here ever since as a Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapist seeing a huge variety of conditions. The training at Nuffield Health has been second to none and I now use an eclectic range of treatment techniques that have proved very effective in getting results.

I have continued to update my skills over the years and qualified as a Cranial Sacral therapist in 2012. Although this is not a therapy I would use as ordinarily it has provided me with another useful tool in managing MSK conditions. I remain whole heartedly committed to delivering effective manual therapy with a holistic approach.
