Every course of treatment starts with a 45-minute initial assessment to assess your symptoms, then recommend the right plan for you and begin treatment. Follow-up appointments are 30 minutes. Your physiotherapist will advise how many appointments you will need but you can stop treatment at any time. *Treatment price does not include specialist pelvic health physiotherapy appointments.

Jo is the National Lead for Pelvic Health Physiotherapy for Nuffield Health. 

Graduating from Southampton University in 1997 with an honours degree in Physiotherapy - she soon specialised in Pelvic Health. She gained a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation - focused on pregnancy related pain and continence care (in both men/women). 
Jo joined Nuffield Health in 2014, prior to this she was the Clinical Specialist in Women's Health at Imperial College Healthcare in central London.

Jo's particular area of clinical expertise lies in treating pelvic floor muscle dysfunction including symptoms of vaginal prolapse, bladder and bowel weakness. She also specialises in treating pregnancy related back/pelvic pain and male bladder/bowel weakness. Jo is also fully trained to deliver acupuncture and can use this alongside any of her treatments. She also treats orthopaedic inpatients at the hospital. 

Jo is passionate about making a difference to people’s lives by restoring their pelvic health and helping them return to a full, active lifestyle. Sessions are provided in a comfortable, relaxed environment, and with a reassuring, honest and open approach to your physiotherapy treatment and care.

Jo also performs the Mummy MOT, a specialized post-natal assessment recommended for all women following delivery – from 6 weeks to many years later. In the Mummy MOT Jo assesses the strength and function of the tummy and pelvic floor muscles to help prevent long-term childbirth-related complaints such as incontinence, low back pain and ‘mummy tummy’.

Kayleigh initially trained in Physiotherapy before deciding to pursue a BSc (Hons) in Sports Rehabilitation at the University of Gloucester, where she is due to complete her degree shortly. Throughout her studies, she has gained a wide range of practical experience, including working on elective orthopaedic wards, providing pitch-side support for various sports teams, delivering sports massage, and working in community re-ablement services.

Currently, Kayleigh focuses on pre-operative assessments, early mobilisation, and prehabilitation at Nuffield Health Taunton Hospital, as well as post-operative rehabilitation on the gym floor at the Taunton Fitness Health and Wellbeing Centre. Her main area of expertise is in sports injuries, and she has a particular interest in gym-based rehabilitation. Kayleigh is dedicated to helping her patients build strength both before and after surgery, ensuring they regain their full function and reduce the risk of future injury or discomfort.

Jack graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from Northumbria University Newcastle in 2014. Following this, he started his physiotherapy career with Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, where he was for 6 years, becoming a Specialist MSK Senior Physiotherapist in 2017. He joined the Nuffield Health team in Taunton in early 2021. 

Jack has a strong sporting background in rugby, having represented his university 1st team and county, plus being a physiotherapist for a North East rugby club. He has a passion for sports rehabilitation, strength and conditioning training, and promoting a person’s return to their optimal level of performance. 

His practice is guided through utilising up-to-date evidence bases and his own knowledge of exercise physiology and training principles. Jack relishes the opportunity to apply this to the rehabilitation process, guiding a person to their desired standard of activity. 

Jack believes in person-centred therapy, where he listens to the individual needs and motivations of each person. He has an educate-and-empower approach, with a view to enabling people to confidently drive towards the goals they aspire to.

How can I help you improve your health?

Kim graduated with a BSC (Hons) in Physiotherapy from Plymouth University in 2019. She began her career at Somerset NHS foundation trust where she gained skills in a wide variety of areas. She became a Senior Physiotherapist in 2021 specialising in the treatment of orthopaedics and musculoskeletal patients. Being career minded she felt the need to progress her interest and skills further taking up a post here at the Nuffield Taunton at the start of 2023.

Kim has always had a keen interest in sports rehabilitation, strength and conditioning and before Physiotherapy had a background in personal training. She believes in combining her knowledge and holistic approach in these two disciplines to ensure that rehabilitation should be person-centred allowing patients to set their own goals with support and guidance in order to reach their full potential.

Kim uses her experience in supporting people post-surgery by applying an up-to-date, evidence-based approach to guide her practice and treatments. She aims to educate and equip people with the skills and knowledge required to allow them to independently and confidently maintain their health and fitness.

Jodie has worked as a Physiotherapy Assistant at Taunton Hospital for over 3 years.

Her area of expertise is in identifying the rehabilitation needs of the patient and early mobility and rehabilitation of orthopaedic patients on the ward. Jodie also assists our Physiotherapists in the safe handling of patients on the wards.
