What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession that works with people to identify and maximise their ability to move and function. We use a range of skills to provide pain relief, aid healing and rehabilitation for most surgical and medical conditions. Physiotherapy is an appropriate choice of treatment for a wide variety of muscle, joint and nerve conditions.

All our physiotherapists are focused on providing you with the most effective and appropriate treatment, whether you need a short course of treatment or an extended rehabilitation programme. This may require a change in lifestyle and/or continued exercise programme, our physiotherapy team will guide you.

What your local physiotherapy team can provide

Nuffield Health is the largest employer of physiotherapists in the UK outside the NHS. The physiotherapy department within our Tees Hospital consists of an established team of experts with a wealth of experience at your disposal.

Our physiotherapists are professionally qualified and registered

All members of the Nuffield Health physiotherapy team are proud members of the Charted Society of Physiotherapy and are registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC). So you can relax in the knowledge you’re in the hands of the physio experts.

All clients are unique

We recognise that all our clients are unique, which is why we provide a comprehensive range of treatments.

You will receive a consultation with your named physiotherapist, where we will discuss the history of your present symptoms and other relevant information regarding your health and physical examination to determine the most appropriate treatment.

What we offer

Being located within a hospital means our physiotherapists have close links with expert consultants and rehabilitate patients who have undergone orthopaedic surgery with us, like knee and hip replacements. A patient’s aftercare is included in the ‘one-off’ fee, meaning you can take advantage of our on-site expertise to encourage a full and thorough recovery.

We also see patients looking for independent treatment, whether you have private medical insurance or are choosing to ‘self-pay’. If you are suffering from pain and discomfort, physiotherapy treatment could help.

Book your initial appointment online today and take the first step to a healthier, happier you.
