Difficulty swallowing and swallowing disorders

The medical term for difficulty swallowing is dysphagia.

Dizziness

There can be many causes for dizziness (or feeling lightheaded). If you are worried about dizziness see your GP in the first instance.

Facial pain (trigeminal neuralgia)

Sudden and very severe pain on one side of your face may be due to trigeminal neuralgia.

Hoarse voice

Irritation of the voice box (larynx) or vocal cords can cause changes in your voice.

Lip lesions

Abnormal inflammation, swelling or sores on your lips are called lip lesions.

Nasal and sinus tumours

Benign (non- cancerous) or cancerous tumours in the nasal cavity or sinuses are rare. Often they are found when other nasal and sinus problems are being treated.

Nasal Congestion

Nasal congestion is when you have a blocked or stuffy feeling in your nose. This happens when the tissues and blood vessels inside your nose become swollen with too much fluid. Sometimes home remedies are enough to relieve your symptoms, but you may need medical treatment if you have long-term problems.

Nasal Polyps

Nasal polyps are growths of abnormal tissue that may form in your nose or sinuses.

Nose Bleed (Epistaxis)

Epistaxis is the medical term for a nose bleed. Nose bleeds are very common and can happen to anyone at any time.

Rhinitis

Inflammation of the inside of your nose that causes congestion and the production of excess mucus is called rhinitis.

The shoulder is the most flexible joint in the human body. Its wide range of movement means that injuries can happen easily.
