About

Dr Rayner trained in General and Respiratory Medicine at Charing Cross Hospital, the Royal Brompton Hospital and St.George’s Hospital London.

She now works solely in private practice and runs a rapid access service at Parkside that includes acute admissions and clinics for patients presenting with both general medical and respiratory symptoms including possible cancer. She works closely with the oncology team both on the ward and in the Cancer centre providing expert general medical and respiratory assessment and treatment advice. She is a member of the Haemato-Oncology multidisciplinary team and chairs the Acute Oncology Group.

She was the Lead Clinician for Respiratory Medicine and Lung Cancer at St. George’s Hospital and was Director of Training for General Medicine both at St. George’s and in the South West Thames Region. In addition, she was the lead Clinician in South West Thames for Tuberculosis and she was the lead clinician for Lung cancer In South West Thames. At St. George’s, Dr Rayner led the development of specialist services in many aspects of Respiratory medicine including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, sarcoidosis, sleep disorders and tuberculosis, bronchoscopy and endobronchial therapy. Working with the Department of Paediatrics, she also had an interest in adolescent respiratory problems including asthma.

Dr Rayner’s research interests have covered aspects of cancer, including the presentation of patients with cancer, thromboembolic disease, and respiratory infection including bronchiectasis, chronic obstructive airway disease and tuberculosis. In addition, she has undertaken studies in sleep medicine, asthma and sarcoidosis. More recently a study has been completed on patients with disordered breathing.

Dr Rayner only sees adults.

Caring for patients presenting with both general medical and respiratory conditions including Asthma, Lung infection and cancer. Providing Holistic care for patients.

Other interests

Holistic care of patients, working closely with the oncology teams at The Cancer Centre and Surgeons at Parkside providing expert general medical and respiratory assessment and treatment advice. Dr Rayner Chairs the Lung cancer MDT.

Personal interests

I enjoy playing Pickleball, Padel, running and watching all sport. I like gardening and caring for my dog.
